Hollow is a thought provoking performance by Andrei Roman merging break dancing with contemporary movement.
It follows a lost soul wandering on Earth, looking for a way to leave this living place and return to his home world. Unable to break this barrier that keeps him between the living ones, he takes a break from trying, and starts thinking, understanding, accepting!
What he comes to find: in order to leave the place where you were born, you have to accept that you no longer belong there.
Andrei started dancing in 2004 and is originally from Romania. After studying at Coventry University, he now calls Coventry home… at least his English home. He is excited to now be showing his self choreographed solo work at Shoot Festival after presenting Irreversible with Marius Mates back at Shoot 2014.
Working mainly as a breakdancer Andrei has won various competitions through his career so far and performed at various venues across the Uk including Birmingham Hippodrome, Sadlers Wells and Birmingham Repertory Theatre, and now is looking forward to sharing Hollow at Shoot 2016.
