Chris Cook bought his first sitar in 1997 and since then his teachers have included sarengi maestro Surgeet Singh and sitar artist Ramesh Chandra.

BHANGRA SKA SITAR
Coventry has spawned not one but two genres of music that make the whole community dance together. Chris Cook celebrates the sound of Coventry, playing on sitar the most important bhangra and ska dance floor fillers as chosen by local experts. It will be a great opportunity to look, listen and enjoy the contrast between the two styles that are united by the city of Coventry and by dancing.

Expect tunes by The Specials, expect tunes by Alaap, expect a sitar concert that will certainly get your Coventrian toes tapping.
