Her work is primarily driven by the way she experiences the world visually, through the mental notes she has taken as she goes about her day to day.

Webb’s work is the accumulation of feelings, memories, subconscious and conscious thoughts that form into colours, lines and shapes that she interacts with on canvas.

Her work is primarily driven by the way she experiences the world visually, through the mental notes she has taken as she goes about her day to day.

Other inspirations are drawn from the landscapes in and around Warwickshire. Her work doesn’t always depict a particular place or time, rather, she collects moments and experiences, pieces of sky and landscape, emotions and feelings relating to each. They are stored inside until they re-surface during her sketching and painting process.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Maddie Webb is originally from Scotland and grew up in a beautiful area by the sea. Her childhood spent by the coast, memories of beach walks, foraging in rock pools and countless holidays in the wilds of the highlands inspire her creative process. She recently returned to painting after teaching art and design for many years. Maddie currently has a studio in Jephson Gardens where she paints and continues to develop her art practice. She has completed three commissions and I am currently working on a fourth.
