ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ai.Sosa is a Nigerian-born spoken word artist whose storytelling performance pieces tackle topics on faith and identity.
He wrote his first piece in 2017 and entered a spoken word competition the following year, where he made it all the way to the quarter finals. He has since gone on to appear at various open mic nights and events which have him focus his style on incorporating rhyme and metaphors to paint imagery and stories.
Recently, Ai.Sosa was crowned as one of 6 winners/finalists of the notorious BBC Words First Programme in collaboration with BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Contains Strong Language 2021. The final stage of the competition involved a commission to 12 artists to write in response to climate change as part of the BBC’s ‘Our Planet Now’ Series.
